The started hunting retriever program consists of four months of training that includes: basic obedience, steady to shot and force fetch. The dog will be introduced to birds (ducks and pigeons) and retrieving singles on land and in water. At the conclusion of this program the dog will be able to pass UKC/HRC Started tests.
The seasoned hunting retriever will began the transition phase which includes: force to the pile, sit on whistle, eight hand casting drills, the “T”, pattern blinds, lining drills, multiple marks (doubles) and relatively simple blind retrieves at medium distances. Blind retrieving allows you to direct your dog to a bird that went down without the dog seeing it. At the completion of this phase the dog will be expected to perform and pass UKC/HRC Seasoned tests. This phase will take approximately four months also.
The finished hunting retriever is expected to perform multiple marks (triples and quads) and run complex blinds at long distances. This program expands the retriever’s skills to also include shot flyers, diversion birds, handling off birds and picking up birds in the order desired. This work is done on land and in water. The duration of this program depends on the dog’s skills and an evaluation will be performed and provided for you.
We have a top of the line enclosed boarding facility with over 100 separate dog kennels.
You will need to provide proof of current vaccinations to include: Rabies, 7 Way Annual Booster, Corona and Bordatella.

Huck
“Cline and Wayne have been excellent to work with. Finally a trainer that actually trains consistently and I know Huck is being worked every day. I purchased a started dog from them and I am continuing his training with Wayne. We are currently Hunt Testing and hoping to get to the top. I would recommend these guys to anyone.”
